FORTHCOMING EXHIBITION: ALEXANDER McKENZIE 'The Keep' - 16 September - 10 October 2010 |
Opening on September 16 is the exhibition The Keep by Alexander McKenzie. A four time Archibald and Wynne Prize finalist, McKenzie has been an artist who has risen to great acclaim both critically and amongst collectors over the past few years. Following on from a series of sell-out exhibitions, the gallery is pleased to present The Keep, McKenzie’s fourth solo exhibition with Martin Browne Fine Art. Works for this exhibition are now available for preview. To contact the gallery for information about the exhibition, please click here. NOW REPRESENTING: BRENT HARRIS |
![]() |
The gallery is pleased to announce the representation of Melbourne artist Brent Harris. Brent is one of the country’s most celebrated painters with a career that has seen his work collected by International Museums as well as every major Australian Art Institution. Harris’ meticulously delineated works swell with imagery- and hints of imagery, that appear both brooding and sensually charged. In his solo exhibition The Face at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2004, Harris’ work was described by Peter Hill as being ‘of-its-time yet strangely out-of-time’. Given the dreamlike, almost fantastical renderings of Harris’ shapes, forms and figures, Hill’s description is certainly not out of place.
